Picture Hanging Cheat

So I’ve been hanging 9 billion pictures since I’ve been setting up house after my recent move, and it occurred to me that everyone might not already know this easy little cheat I’ve been using for years now…

Take tape.  Masking or scotch tape is preferred.

Cut off a piece of tape that is the length of the distance between the two holes on the back of the picture you’re hanging.

Put the piece of tape on the wall where you’d like to hang your picture.  Check it with a level to be sure it’s right.

Hammer nails on the opposite ends of the tape.

Hang your picture.

Storing Cleaning Supplies

When I lived in a tiny rent house, I had to reconsider every possible storage solution to maximize our tiny space.  One thing I learned then was to use a tension rod to hold my cleaning supplies.  This allows you … Continue reading

Microwaving Soap for DIY Laundry Detergent

I’d seen a few people on Pinterest who had microwaved their Zote or Fels Naptha Soap and then crumbled it. Since I’d always grated my own soap (which takes FOR-EV-ER), I was very excited about this possibility. (Looking for my … Continue reading
