DIY Wood and Leather Cleaner

The recipe you’re about to read was based off of a recipe I found on Pinterest.  However, I like a bit more olive oil and lemon juice in mine; I find that it’s more effective with these proportions.

Homemade Dusting Spray

  • 2 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/4 Cup White Vinegar
  • 1 Cup Warm Water

Combine ingredients in a small spray bottle.  Shake vigorously before using and intermittently during use.

So after making this, it occurred to me that, with that much olive oil, I could also use this cleaner on leather.  It works well!  It even helped to darken some scratches on my leather sofa:

Anyway, this works great for dusting, too.  You may notice a bit of a film for about a minute (much like what you’d expect with any other wood cleaner), but in the end it leaves your furniture with a gentle sheen.

Did you try this recipe?  Do you have your own dusting and/or leather cleaner you’d like to share?  Let’s hear it!
