When we were moving out of our old house, I was delighted to find all of these lovely marker stains in the carpet of my daughter’s room.
As I’m sure you can imagine, I was mildly panicked. I’d already packed my hairspray, which is my go-to reaction for any stray mark made by marker.
Thankfully, I remembered that alcohol was the ingredient in hairspray that helped remove the ink.
And I had that on hand.
Be prepared to be amazed.
Even after just spraying it, you can already see where the rubbing alcohol has removed a lot of the stain.
Annnnnnd…..
TA DA!!!! Picture theme music. That’s what I was hearing in my head when I got to this point.
So funny, I’m working on a post now about using alcohol for pen stains. My daughter drew on the walls and a chair! It was amazing on the chair, but the walls are a little trickier.
I didn’t know about carpet though…glad i read this! I wonder if alcohol would work for paint on carpet? I’ll give it a try 🙂
Thanks
For walls, I found that a magic eraser worked pretty well; you might want to give that a shot.
I don’t know about paint, but I used this article to get nail polish out of my carpet once, and it worked like a charm! Good luck! http://www.moddybee.blogspot.com/2012/03/nail-polish-in-my-carpetgone.html?m=1
Cool thanks.
the magic eraser works but it wears through it so fast. I think it’s going to be a slow and tedious process with alcohol. Maybe drinking alcohol will help during the process! 🙂
Now THAT sounds like a workable plan! LOL
