My Roomba

In the last 10 years or so, I have owned 3 or 4 Roombas.  Usually, when people see it docked in the corner of my living room, they want to ask a bunch of questions, starting with the most obvious: “Does it actually work?!”

I was skeptical, too.  When I received my first one as a gift, I first took a small area of my house, thoroughly vacuumed it, and then set my Roomba to work on that area.  I was surprised how much stuff this little thing was able to get out of my carpet!

Now, the one I have (the 560 model; it’s apparently out dated now) has a cleaning schedule that it follows… every day at 8 AM, it turns itself on and vacuums the living room, dining area, and kitchen.  My only responsibility is to remember to empty the bin when it’s done.

I love that it goes under my furniture and cleans thoroughly around the baseboards.  It cleans hard surfaces and carpeted areas; it manages to get itself untangled from curtains and rugs.

My kids are also fairly convinced our Roomba is another pet.

Here’s the filter…  after just one cycle!

In conclusion: worth every penny.
